The Fluid Manifesto

This website is the Fluid Manifesto for the Nation of Popullex, and its very existence is the bond that unites us as a Nation.
Wikipedia (which is a perfect example of how consensus and self-regulation can produce tangible results through technology) defines a Nation as: "a cultural and social community [where] most members never meet each other, yet feel a common bond" Popullex is founded with the sole aim of defining nationhood in a modern world. If it is possible, through debate and consensus, to agree a definition of nationhood, then we will have the common bond that allows us to proclaim Popullex a nation. This website is the central doctrine of the Nation of Popullex; The Fluid Manifesto. This will be the forum through which the continuously adapting rules of the nation will be debated, edited and agreed upon. So important is this document, that every person wishing to become a citizen must post at least one comment on the Manifesto Board. I will then endevour to send an official passport confirming their citizenship! This is an experiment I am beginning to see if it is possible to allow people to truelly govern themselves through agreement rather than conflict. I think it is an incredibly interesting experiment with the potential to develop into something exciting and empowering for us all. For this reason, I urge you, please, post something on the Manifesto Board, engage in the debate, leave an email address, and you are a citizen for life. In Populex we might trust...

    Law#1
The first law is that any law can be added, as long as the citizen adding it can justify it.
We need laws on economics, prohibition, welfare system, legal system, etc...

    Law 2

All money should be outlawed and we should return to the days of bartering.

For example we all have jobs and services and we can offer our services for free in return for another service from another citerzen.

Law 3: There shall be no further laws made by the populous. Henceforth, I shall make all laws and rules by decree. This is much safer than allowing a free for all. Plus I already have experience of managing several other small nations.

    Law 4

No one individual may claim, as in Law Three, to be more or less qualified than any other to pass or suggest laws. This is to maintain the integrity of the founding principles of the state in being 'Inclusively Democratic' and in being '[a] totally representative government by all citizens.'

This Law therefore finds Law Three to be unconstitutional and is hereby voided.

    Law 5:

When we sweep to power, the 5/2 workday/weekend will be abolished. We will wriggle free from the shackles of a seven day week and a new 5/3 split will be enforced. The new day will be called Popuday and come after Sunday. The 52 week year will become 45 weeks. On Popuday all citizens have to do community service.
